Iceland May 2025
From May 12 to 21, 2025, we were once again in Iceland with ten people to continue planting the reforestation area in Hafnarsandur. The Icelandic Forest Service provided us with a colorful mix of seedlings: willows, balsam poplars, coastal pines, Sitka spruces, birches and gray alders. In total, we planted 30,000 saplings. This May it was unusually warm in Iceland – instead of our rain gear, we took sunscreen to the field this time. In the meantime, we even had to water the seedlings in the pallets to protect them from drying out.
